Joni Prater started her professional chef career when she opened The Gathering Place in Amarillo, TX in 2002 catering weddings, corporate events, pharmaceutical dinners, business club luncheons, and family reunions. In 2012 she opened Nordic Galley Bakeri, serving breakfast, lunch, and bakery specialties with “European Taste & Southern Hospitality.” Moving to the Austin area in 2019, she worked in the wedding industry and catering sales and in 2022 decided to get back to her baking passion as a Texas Cottage Industry, making beautiful European desserts for Hill Country weddings, and weekend fun setting up a market booth at her friend’s 12 Fox Beer Co. in Dripping Springs.
